Read books that you enjoy reading. If you're forcing yourself to read books then it'll be a hassle. Simply read books that you actually enjoy. Thank you.

Set a reading goal, like read 50-75 pages a day to make easier on yourself

Giving up? Giving up on what?

Read a little at a time. If you find books boring, try reading books that are a collection of short stories

Find motivation and a good reason for yourself why you're reading it

It is supposed to be fun and/or educational. If it is neither then you miss the point.

Simple calculation, if you get good feelings from the book then you must not give up reading the book. So try to take interest/good feelings otherwise at last you will give up.

Be interested in the text or find something interesting about it. Read it in smaller portions. Like, limit your reading to twenty minutes, then come back twenty minutes later.

If it's for homework, just persist with it. Maybe have a look on study notes to see if there's anything useful to encourage you to continue on reading. If it's for self-interest, then finding a book that suits your interests can be a help.

Sometimes, paying too much attention to hype about a book, can work against it. You come at it with high expectations, and that can lead to disappointment. That's the reason I avoid 'trendy' books.
