516 mph if the Bear Bomber is going at top speed. If the bomber slows to just above stall speed, the Typhoon can't keep abreast of it and will have to circle around it - or just shoot it down.

The Bear is probably cruising at about 300 knots, well within the Typhoon's capabilities. Just because the Typhoon can go supersonic it doesn't mean that it HAS to.

That Bear H is one of the fastest turboprops in the world and can easily exceed 500 knots. At Typhoon's cruise thrust setting the pilot would be more worried about falling behind that bomber than overshooting it.

The Typhoon can easily slow down to 150 IAS knots which is far slower than the 350 knot normal cruise speed of the TU-95.

Just in case you missed an important point: aircraft that can travel at twice the speed of sound can ALSO fly slower.

In the case of the Tupolev 95, its cruise speed is 550 km/h; that is well above the Typhoon's stall speed.
