Andrew Yang wants to pay everybody 1000 dollars a month since automation is replacing jobs, why doesn't he have more support?

No, it's not "socialism". Founding father Thomas paine wanted to give every American citizen something similar.

Does Yang offer Fried Rice with that 1000. Maybe egg roll.

Because at the first debate when asked how he would pay for this, he looked like a deer in the headlights and couldn't answer.

Instead of paying every person arbitrarily why not lower the cost of things?

It's called Progress. Did we pay $100 when whip makers went bankrupt because the horseless carriage took off? Or kerosene lamp makers when the electric light bulb was a hit? People need to stop whining and stop expecting to be taken care of by the government. It's called find a new job.

The $1000 a month UBI/Freedom Dividend idea is just a start. If you go on his website, he actually offers some great ideas on a variety of subjects. The $1000 per month is an amount all citizens age 18 and above would get and you would be able to opt in or out if you receive other "safety net" benefits. He is also the only candidate of which I am aware who is willing to discuss how automation is affecting society and this is an opportunity to look at real solutions beyond the UBI he advocates.

I know some call his policy(ies) socialist. Actually, he opens the door to something which goes beyond either capitalism or socialism, but does have some elements of both. Frankly, ready or not, that is the future especially as we see the corporate capitalism structure fail and the tired 20th century socialist responses be increasingly shown to be ineffective as the pain and decay increase. Yang offers a chance to bypass that pain and suffering and address people's needs directly.

The state of Alaska is already doing something similar, The Alaska Permanent Fund.

The Alaska Permanent Fund is a state-owned investment fund established using oil revenues. It has, since 1982, paid out an annual dividend to every man, woman, and child living in Alaska. In 2015, with oil prices high, the dividend totaled $2,072 per person, or $8,288 for a family of four. By 2017, it had been cut down to $1,100 due to money being diverted to other purposes; in cheaper gas years, it can dip into the $800 to $900 range

It actually comes from a portion of the tax collected by the state of Alaska for oil production that the state then shares with the residents of Alaska.

Most Americans are so fvcking stupid they wouldn’t take anything even if they were starving. Because they’ve been so easily brainwashed by the wealthy elite who want to ride on their backs to believe that the only thing that makes them good human beings is working until they die while the rich people play at their expense. Stupid fvcking American idiots. Masochist, gullible sh!t for brains capitalist tools. What a joke
