Round worms found in washer?

I found a solitary white worm in my washer after doing laundry. It did not come from the laundy. Im curious as to how it got there, and if I need to take any type of measures to avoid more. Googling it looks like a round worm, but I have no pets.

You need to disinfect your washer, use bleach and hot water.

I turned it on the longest wash cycle, hot water and used a cup of bleach. Thank you for answering!

Those are called ringworms I believe and you should use heavy amounts of bleach and lye in an empty washer with or without clothes to kill everything organic inside.

Don't freak out but if you have kids, have them checked out immediately. Kids can pick up roundworm from just sitting on the ground or in sandboxes. Check the link for all the disgusting details.
