It can be a 'hike,' a 'trek,' a 'long walk,' a journey on foot' or a 'walking tour.' If it's really a long road trip on foot, it might even be called a 'marathon.'

Hiking. a trek? a journey? (maybe a crusade).

In Britain it would be a "walking holiday" (note no capitals). Normally "a hike" is the serious walking journey of a few hours, or of one day - not of several days. Note that "Road Trip" is almost exclusively American as a genre of literature or movie. Nobody in Britain talks of a "Road Trip".

I'd call it a 'walking trip' or a 'walking tour'.

Ozzies call it a walkabout. There are several words that can be used as a general idea, but which you choose would depend on the situation. A promenade is a "road trip" without any rush or real destination, for example. go for a walk. take a long hike. Bar night (road trip to the strip). On a wander.
