Mary can travel 14 miles in one hour. Half of that (7 miles) will take her a half-hour.

14 miles for 1 hour

so 7 miles for 30 minutes

D = st

t = D/s

t = (7 miles) /(14 miles/hour)

t = 0.5 hours or 30 minutes... answer//

14 miles in 1 hour, so,

7 miles in half an hour, because,

7 is half of 14.

Consider why you posted this very simple question, when it would have been easier to try it yourself.

Is it lack of confidence in your ability or were you a bit lazy.?

Try to engage with maths. You might find that things start to make sense.

Here's the correct method

Given 7 miles, start there, then multiply by converters

7 miles (1 hour/14 miles)

the miles top and bottom cancel, leaving hours

= 7/14 hr = 1/2 hour

1/2 hour (60 minures/1 hour) = 30 minutes

half an hr is how long it will take her

• 11 months ago

time = distance/speed

time = 14/7 = 2 hours

Mary's horse will be exhausted before she reaches 7 miles.

constant speed = distance / time

14 = 7 / time

14 * time = 7

time = 7/14

time = 0.5, or half an hour.

Hope that helps!
