# A local mechanic's shop charges \$ 60 60 for oil changes, \$1200?

Update:

A local mechanic's shop charges

60 for oil changes, \$1200

for brake services, and \$250 for rust protection. If last week the shop had 34 visits:

23 of which were oil changes, 7 brake services, and 4 rust protections, then how much money did the shop make on average per visit?

How much money did they make? Are we talking net or gross? Perhaps you should go to a better school, where they give reasonable problems. Then you won't have to come here to resolve your confusion.

Not real good at story problems, are you?

That is expensive. Is that a big truck. You can do it yourself by watching those YouTube videos.

Sum the total that was earned and divide that by the number of visits

(60 * 23 + 1200 * 7 + 250 * 4) / (23 + 7 + 4) =>

(1380 + 8400 + 1000) / 34 =>

(2380 + 8400) / 34 =>

10780 / 34 =>

5390 / 17 =>

317.05882352941176470588235294118

They made roughly \$317 per visit, or \$317.06, if you want accuracy down to the penny.

If you're asking how many \$60 oil changes you could get for 1200 dollars, then:

1200 / 60 =
