Which is better: affirmative action hiring or equal opportunity hiring and why?

Affirmative Action: favoring people with certain demographics attributes over others.

Equal opportunity: equally considering all applicants based on their merit only, with no favoritism based on race, sex, etc.

Affirmative Action and it's "diversity" hiring practices are nothing more than Federally blessed/condoned legalized reverse racism.

Equal opportunity hiring is everything Affirmative Action / Diversity hiring are NOT.

I choose Equal Opportunity hiring practices.

Equal opportunity sounds better on paper, but it is mainly used by government offices and still gives a "bonus" to people with disabilities and veterans. All systems have a bias. They are still better than the old days where you had to go the the same college and have a friend or family member introduce you to have a shot at a good job.

Affirmative Action is racist and the Democrats who cooked it up are racists.

Equal opportunity is better.  Where we reside Caucasian males do not stand a chance of getting that good state or federal job unless the father is the hiring manager.

Equal opportunity is better. It is more fair and more efficient. It also stops speculation that people were affirmative action hires and not truly the most qualified.

Neither. Hiring is an activity that is regulated by such "imperatives". That's the problem. The solution is to abandon the artificial imperatives that come from poisonous ideological thought, and return to rational selection based on the model reasoning provides.

Everything needs checks/balances.  If too many blacks are hired and  statistics are saying better qualified whites overlooked, then there has to be a change. There are Fed laws forbidding age  discrimination against those . over  40,  or against handicapped (if over 15 employees).

Equal Opportunity works in a FAIR society

In an UNFAIR society, you HAVE to use Affirmative Action

EXAMPLE: In the 1960's universities would say "I don't care HOW smart that n e g r o is, we are not taking him in our college."

Did you know Fed law against disc. ,over 40 years of age? Or if disabled (and over 15 employees). I am in favor of Anti Discrimination laws due to Ugly, Fat, Having SD or Diabetes. And, Anti Short discrimination. Not fair to hire only the Biggest guys.
