Why did Pandora randomly install itself on my laptop?

I have uninstalled it and I'm not sure why it was installed.

    Windows 10, right?

don't you just love their new invasive system that tracks everything you do and installs junk without asking?

Probably rode in along with something else you downloaded. Should have been careful about that, particularly about various tick-boxes you are presented with.

Some software download sites have so many ads among the results that it's easy to click something by accident.

The last time I downloaded Paint.Net, it installed additional software by default, but I uninstalled it later.

Also, it may have been hidden in the terms of service of a different program that Pandora would be installed. I'm reasonably certain there was a study in which people joined a nonexistent group that sounded worthwhile, and that it was necessary to agree to the group's terms of service. Several joined, but hidden in the terms of service was the agreement to sacrifice one's firstborn child.

And surely there are other explanations.
