If I'm the administrator on a Dell computer can I get into another account on the computer?

Can the administrator of a Dell computer access other accounts on the computer if they are locked with a password?

Nope. Admin just means you have the highest privlages, but you can't access other accounts without 'their' logon credentials.

Even taking out a fully reformatted HDD allows a good IT person to access all deleted data - sometimes not full files.

With certain domains you can but this is a HUGE invasion of privacy and it is illegal so dont try to look into someones computer without probable cause.

Hi. NO. The Administrator cannot "access the accounts" as in logging into the Users websites with stored passwords & etc..

The Administrator DOES however have full file access over the accounts files & installed software, as well as what they are allowed to access on that computer.

You have no power whatsoever outside of that laptop, without breaking laws & snooping through any saved personal info.

So You'd better have a solid case proof of violation of policy, or legitinate reason to have looked at their files.

The answer is no, and the brand of computer (Dell, HP, etc.) has nothing to do with it !!!

It's the password protection that secures it from prying eyes and that's how it should be. The "administrator" privilege doesn't allow you to snoop, it only allows you to control the accounts and what software gets added or deleted.
