Can you help me with English please?

I went back to my room and read over my paper several times.

What does the word "over" mean in this case?

Thank you!

To read 'over' something is to carefully read it to check for mistakes.

Or to check that you have exactly understood the meaning of somebody else's writing, if you are reading a paper from elsewhere.

In this context it means "through". As in "I read through my paper several times".

Read over, read through, same thing. You could even leave the word out without really changing the meaning.

To "read over" in this case means to read your paper from beginning to end especially to look for mistakes or check details.
