Hispanic means people who came from Spanish speaking background. This consists of all Spanish-speaking nationalities, including the country Spain itself. What makes Hispanic different from Latinos is that Latinos only refer to people of Spanish-speaking countries in American Continent, as well as Spanish-speaking states like Puerto Rico.

    .

Hispanic nationalities have Spanish as their official language. Hispanic mean of or relating to Spanish-speaking countries

of Latin America. Hispanic ethnicities have their own versions of participating in Spanish culture. People who descended

from Hispanic countries of Latin America are usually mixed with European and Amerindian races or Hispanic mixed race.

    None lmfao!

Hispanics can be of any race, any ancestry, any ethnicity.

Hispanic can't be a nationality because it is not a nation.

If you speak Spanish and/or are descended from Spanish-speaking populations, congratulations you are Hispanic!

Hispania was located in Europe, it's now the modern country of Spain and Portugal.

Hispanic means showing characteristics of people from Hispania (Hisapni / Hispanus). It may or may or may not also include the North Africans who controlled that area, they were called Mozarabs.

For a short period of time central America (Mesoamerica) was called Nova Hispania, In this context Hispanic is used like New Englander. I guess they dropped the New part because old Hispania doesn’t exist anymore.

Btw, Latina is a different area still located in Europe. The Latini (Note the i) are the people who built the city of Rome. The same Romans who conquered the British and most of Europe.

In my opinion words relating to Latins and Hispanics should only be used for European and their direct descendants. That’s kind of more along the lines of the original Roman system.

We have other terms for people from the Americas, there was no reasonable need to reassign them.

pearl and tentofield are almost right. Hispanic is a designation of people who have Spanish as (not necessarily only) native language.. You could say it's a group of ethnicities. YOUR ethnicity is the language and culture YOU were raised in.

People from Spain are called "spaniards"

There are no races of humans.

Nationality. It literally means "one who is from Spain".

None of the above. It's an American term to describe people from Spanish-speaking nations. It's not a race or ethnicity as Hispanics come in different races and ethnicities. And it's not a Nationality as Hispanics come from different nations around the world.

None of those. It is an American word referring to language origins.
