How do I get more people answering my questions?

depends upon your question

it depends on the time of the day. sometimes people will answer right away and sometimes they will not answer your question

Mornings were always the best time to get lots of answers, but not so much anymore. Try asking questions that catch people's attention and are witty.

You make your question easy to answer. Most do not want to waste their time here answering questions that have bad grammar and lots of works capitalized. Also, keep it short and simple...

more doesn't always mean better. quality should be over quantity. if one person answers your question correctly, or helps you with advice you're looking for or agree with, why would you want ten other people saying otherwise to confuse you more?

By posting it in the correct category.

Kill the trolls who flood the site with inane chat?
Here are some reasons questions may get few/no answers, so see if any of these apply to your questions and make corrections. Since the site is for knowledge seeking questions, you only need 1 answer, provided it's a correct one.
Some reasons questions don't get any/many answers are:
*They are posted at low YA user times of day
*They are posted in low activity categories
*They are poorly worded or not understandable/gibberish
*They are complex and not many would know the answer
*They don't interest the people who saw them
*They are trolling or aren't questions (but statements or requests)
*They are posted in the wrong category or not the best category to get good answers
*Some users refuse to reply to a question posted by a user using the Anonymous (blue face) feature
*Your question is only visible to you due to it being hung in the spam filter (log out of your account OR try viewing your question in another browser in which you aren't logged in to your YA account. If you can see the question, then it's fine. If you can't, then go into it and move it to another category, then back where it belongs. Check it again with a non-logged in account. Once you can see it, you can feel sure others can see it too).
You don't need more answers. If you're asking a proper question all you need is one answer: the correct one.
Questions that get lots of answers usually ask for personal opinions like "Am I pretty?" or "Will Trump win reelection?"
