My professor said the ‘90s was from 1990-1999, but it’s from 1990-2000. How do I correct him?

Yes it should be true .

Calculation of A.D period starts with birth of Jesus. Now when it starts it's ddmmyyyy translated written as 00.01.0000 and if allowed to continue till end of year, it will be 00.01.0001. thus first is 00 and 99 is complete century. Yet simple addition is not seeming simple

    You do not.

The 1990s (pronounced "nineteen-nineties" and abbreviated as the nineties) was a decade of the Gregorian calendar that began on January 1, 1990, and ended on December 31, 1999.

He's right, you're wrong, as usual.

You're wrong, too. The 90s were from 1991 to 2000. You start counting with "1", not "0". 1990 to 2000 is eleven years.
