Why do you think getting sick on an Airplane is any different than getting sick in your bedroom, the kitchen, a bus , your classroom?
A heart attack is a heart attack, nausea is nausea. Did you expect the magic hospital to open up and doctors rush to your side?
Crew and passengers give what assistance they can until the plane lands.
Did you expect FREE health care at the Emergency landing place? A FREE ride to continue on after you are healthy?
Curious what will YOU DO if the person next to you suddenly had some medical issue? On a plane, on the bus, in a shopping mall. in the lunchroom, at the park?
Some reason in particular YOU cannot provide some aid.
CPR is not hard to learn. Heimlich also easy to learn. SECONDS count while YOU panic.
Most plane seats have a bag in the seat pocket if you have a desire to recheck what it was you ate or drank for the last while.

They'll ask if there's a doctor or nurse on board. Depending on the problem and if there's an airport they can divert to, they may choose to land and offload the ill passenger. But if it's a trans-ocean flight, they usually have no choice but to continue as there's few if any diversion points. But generally the airline puts the greater good over one passenger. You got 200 healthy passengers that need to get to where they're going so losing one isn't the end of the world. But if the sick passenger is an Executive Platinum Diamond 100k frequent flier, they'll do anything to help the passenger

The airline staff will ask for medical assistance (if available) if it's not something they can deal with; and if necessary / possible, they'll land at the nearest airport.
