Why did Punk music die? It just seems like really interesting fun music?

I listen to mostly Rap but i do listen to Punk music from time to time and ive always wondered why such a good categorie of music would fade in general

    Punk rock did not die. It evolved into New Wave in the 1980s. Artists like Talking Heads, Blondie, Joe Jackson, Graham Parker, Nick Lowe, The Police, Dire Straits, and Elvis Costello did not call their music punk-rock. They called it New Wave instead. New Wave replaced Disco. Disco died.

    Which is why your assessment about Punk is totally f'ed up. Punk certainly didn't die and has been going strong in the underground where it's always been. If you took a little time you could actually find some with little trouble, but I have little faith in " I listen to mostly Rap".
