Are shift flares harmful to transmission?

Are shift flares harmful to transmission? I have a shift flare a couple times a week. 2011 malibu 2.4 liter flex fuel 6 speed automatic transmission. It has the 6t40 I guess.

Go to the dealer and find out if they have a PCM "reflash" for shift flares on your car.

Shift flares can be mistaken for a slipping tranny so don't go to a transmission shop. They rend to up sell a rebuilt transmission rather then diagnosing what's wrong.

Yes, a flare means it is slipping excessively between shits. Slipping equals heat, heat kills clutches.

No, you need a rebuild or at least find out why your line pressure is ow.

I did the dealer and they said it's because I disconnected my battery and has to relearn how I drive. Shouldn't take couple months too learn how I drive.

When your car is about to shift /shifting the rpms jump up couple hundred or more then drop.
