Many minor procedures do not require either sedation nor general anaesthetic but cn be more safely done with just local anaethetic.

Obesity should not make any difference to the choice of anaesthetic for the procedure in question.

For truly minor procedures, general anaesthesia carries up to 100 times the very small risk of the surgery itself and cannot really be justified.

Ask the anesthesiologist who is going to do the surgery bf you have this done and any other concerns you might have.

It's a decision that's made by the anaesthetist but on the whole twilight sedation would be safer. I've had procedures done under IV Midazolam and quite like the stuff.
