If a wife leaves her husband and children and she works too. Would she have to pay child support ?

    equality would suggest that the estranged partner whether male of female should pay child support.

    If he petitions the court for child support, yes.

    Lot's of mothers pay child support, this isn't new.

    If she is working and he has custody, yes, it's very likely that she would be required to pay child support.

    Yes. A lot depends on the state and the individual circumstances, but for the most part, the spouse who left has to write some checks.

    Child support isn't based on gender (anymore), it's based on who does the earning and who does the housework.  It's very often the man who does the earning and the woman who stays home but not always.  So yes, women have to pay child support if they are the ones doing the earning (if it's 50/50 then the child support is 50/50).
