The US is CURRENTLY the majority of Europe's military. It would take less time to conquer Europe by WITHDRAWING troops.

Europe's population is double that of USA.

Invasion is therefore not possible, as occupation forces need to be superior to resisting forces.

Maybe so, but by the late 30's Japan knew they had a tiger by the tail.  They just didn't know how to get out.

If you include Russia, probably forever.  4 million German troops couldn't accomplish it.  Plus I don't see a lot of Americans enthused about doing this.

France, Great Britain and Germany all have nukes. America might still take Europe but we'd wipe ourselves out in the process.

Germany doesn't have any nukes. Any nukes in Germany are US nukes with joint control, they won't be used without host country permission.

Why would we ever want to do that? Then we'd totally have a Democrat majority.

Well, British lost against us when they tried to keep us as their vassals, and they had a way more powerful army, but we were all the way across the ocean. It happened again in 1812. They gave up only because it wasn't worth it, but could have probably beat us, so again, why would we do that?
