Is it true that if Earths atmosphere was 10 times thicker that a 10 mph wind would feel like a 100 mph wind?

It's essentially true.  You'd have 10 times the mass hitting you.  Venus has an atmosphere about 90 times thicker than Earth's at it's surface - a gentle breeze there would feel like trying to fight an ocean current at a depth of 300 feet on Earth...

    • But it's not kinetic energy we're talking about, it's impulse - the striking of particles against matter, which is based on the change of momentum - mv.
