No audio on HDMI?
- Laurence ILv 78 months agoFavorite Answer
your GPU driver is responsible for adding digital audio to the graphics data stream. this could be as simple as a tick box that does this. since you did not state your CPU(which may also be your GPU) or your 2nd GPU(which may be the one doing the HDMI output) then we cant really help you.

Yeah, and I have that problem too when the GPU's audio drivers aren't correctly installed.
Try to reinstall the VGA/Graphics drivers.

Audio is carried over HDMI. But in order to have audio on the HDMI, you have to HDMI as the output and HDMI as the input. If you are using some kind of an adapter - such as VGA out from the PC and HDMI into the montior/TV, then you are not going to get any sound. The adapter can only transmit what is output from the source. VGA does not carry sound.
You did not give us any details about your set up. Whether you are sending the video and sound out of the PC to a device, or whether you are trying to send video and sound from a device into the PC. You have not told us how they are hooked up. You have not told what you are using for the sound.
More details would help us to figure out why it is failing.
