What do the Dems say about when the President was heard over an open mic telling Putin he would have more flexibility after the election?

Oops...that was Obama.  Democrats can't be held to a standard.

The question is remarkably stupid. Why didn't the Republicans hold him accountable and open a formal investigation and/or impeachment procedings?

Obama was saying he wasn't going to commit himself until after the election.  If that deferral lost your vote, so be it.  Deferring a decision is legal.

On the other hand, Rex Tillerson is right: “Clearly, asking for personal favors and using United States assets as collateral is wrong.”  Wrong as in illegal.

Do you even know the context of the conversation, or who Obama was speaking to?

Conservative keep on bringing this up but there's at least two big problems with this. First off, is that if what Obama said was wrong then what Trump did is certainly wrong. In conservatives mind these are the same thing. So if Obama was doing something wrong then Trump is also wrong.

But the other problem is that these aren't the same thing. Obama's hot mic moment, while perhaps a bit embarrassing, was totally appropriate. Obama was, presumably, acting in the best interest of the nation and dealing with Rush. It was also true that he would have more flexibility to deal with them after the election. This is not improper. What Trump has done with Ukraine is improper. He was not looking out for the best interest of the nation but rather his own best interest. That's what makes it improper. If Trump had been withholding us Aid to

That it's fine and totally correct.  Re-elected presidents do have much more flexibility than "lame duck" presidents, just look at the horsesh!t that Republicans pulled with Merrick Garland.

It's nothing like "hey, can you hack my political opponent's emails and then give them to my son so he and I can both lie about it."  THAT would be pretty bad, right?
