there are no copper coins, copper is too expensive. Pennies are made of zinc, copper plated.
copper communications wires can be replaced by aluminum wires or by fiber optics.
Power wires can be replaced by aluminum.
High efficiency appliances like LED bulbs reduce the current requirements and thus the amount of copper needed.

REPLACE COPPER WITH ALUMINUM,
REPLACE COMMUNICATION LINE FROM COPPER INTO FIBRE OPTIC CABLE.

aluminum can be made to work with the correct terminations. I agree right now copper is best for home wiring, but if copper prices increased a lot, that changes.
