Why don't Dems campaign on price controls for healthcare providers, since they engage in price gouging.?
Wouldn't that help to take the steam out of detractors who yell about the tax increases that universal HC would require?

Medicare and other insurance programs already do that. I guess you think that if you limit how much providers can make that they will just accept it and that people will still make the choice to become providers. Wrong.

Democrats are in bed with the health insurance companies. They FORCED people to purchase from these companies.

Republicans control the Senate and Moscow Mitch won't put the bill on his desk that would do that to a vote.

As soon as they try to do that conservatives start shouting about "death panels" and whatnot.

Sure. Cut the wages of the doctor who went to school for 12 years to earn a living. That will make people run to the profession in the future. Or cut the drug companies so they don't find value in doing medical research. That way the price of drugs will go down, but there will be no future drugs invented. Good idea. Artificial price controls. That always works.
Ah, I see you've bought into the myth that without drug companies gouging the crap out of patients for their drugs they won't research more drugs. Look, there's no reason insulin should have increased as much as it has. You should look into QALY if you really care about drug prices.
