If Ukraine is our allies why didn't we do anything to help them when Putin invaded them in 2014?

It sounds like you think keeping kids in cages is wrong. That’s happening right now, you know.

That's what the impeachment is all about when you look at the bottom line. Why indeed?

For better or worse, Ukraine is a friend of America, not an ally.

We did. Most of the people testifying in the impeachment inquiry were part of the diplomatic community involved in Ukraine policy. They explained exactly how the US helped Ukraine resist Russian aggression... until Trump came along.

Rudy Giuliani was running a back-channel diplomacy program which was diametrically opposed to the official US policy. Trump & Giuliani wanted to weaken Ukraine and give Russia a greater ability to exert its influence.

The question is why? Was Trump just a gullible fool who unwittingly helped Russia, or was he acting at Putin's request in exchange for something?

What could we have done? Start a nuclear war over a country which isn’t a part of NATO nor do we have a treaty with ratified by congress. Not doing anything when Russia invaded was the smartest decision we made in this entire Ukrainian war

Because their former president, who very much was a corrupt Putin puppet, announced they would roll over and take it.

If we’d invaded Ukraine against the will of its government, that wouldn’t have made us a very good ally either.

In 2014 Ukraine was run by corrupt oligarchs. It wasn't until Zelensky was elected that something was done about the corruption.

We did. Remember all the sanctions, all the aid, and that Russia was kicked out of the G8?

Btw, Ukraine is no NATO member.

You'll have to ask Obama and his buddies.
