(Any) Voters: When picking a Politician, do you look at their voting record and policies or do you just randomly pick someone to support?

I evaluate their stated policies, and in some case a lack of stated policy, and their personal character.  In the case of a tie I vote for the candidate with the best hair.

They have to prove to me that their voting record, their policies and their ideas support the American values of equality and rights for all of us.  therefore, it's not what the candidate says but what he or she actually does or plans to do for America.

So it doesn't matter what party they are with or what race, gender or ethnicity they are.  I'm hiring someone for an important job and they had better have their heads in the right place.
