How could Jonah have survived in the belly of a whale when whales cannot swallow something the size of a human?

Perhaps the ancient goat herders who wrote this crap didn't realize that?

It's a myth. No, nobody has survived three days or more in the gastric juices. Of a fish or sea mammal. Also, a fish fills their mouth and stomach with water. You'd drown. You cannot explain Jonah and the whale or fish naturalistically. Therefore, it's a story. A myth. Also, there would not be enough air to survive. In the belly of a whale or a large fish. Even if not full of water or other liquids. You'd suffocate.

This whale shark has the innards that are as big as a bus.  They still exist, but they are not normally meat eaters and have mouths large enough to swallow a lot of big things, if motivated.  Apparently an ancestor of his did in fact swallow a frightened prophet, did not digest him, but threw him up three days later.

According to Matthew 19:26 with men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. So for Jonah to be in the belly of the fish isn’t impossible.  Then according to Jonah 1:17, Jehovah sent a huge fish to swallow Jonah, that he came to be in the belly of the fish for 3 days & nights.

It was a fish, Einstein, specifically prepared for the purpose. It probably had weak stomach acid and a leaky swim bladder so it had to gulp air constantly. Think again, if you are able.

  • The Scriptures say he was swallowed by a great fish. Possibly a large Great White Shark, A Whale Shark, or Basking Shark, The Scriptures don't say specifically what great fish. Was he alive for the three days in the great fish's belly? Does the Bible say he was alive for the three days? Jesus Christ said that just as Jonah was in the fish's belly for three days, so the Son of man would be in the tomb three days. Jesus Christ was not alive in the tomb for three days. And when the fish vomited Jonah up God used a phrase that was also used by Jesus Christ when he resurrected a young girl who had died Luke 8:53,54. God told Jonah "Get Up", Jonah 3:2. Also, look at these verses of what Jonah said, Jonah 2:1 Out of the belly of sheol. Sheol is the Hebrew word for grave, Jonah 2: 7 When my soul fainted away within me. Those verses make it look like Jonah died in the fish's belly. Not saying absolutely, but it looks that way. If you don't like answers and something to think about, why ask questions, unless you're just trying to ridicule what you don't understand.
