Until this decade (2010-19) the Wankers had appeared in at least one World Series in every decade since the 1920s. Despite having one of the 3 highest Opening Day payrolls in baseball in 9 of those 10 years, the Wankers have been the very image of futility in the postseason. It's one thing to beat up the dregs of the American League, as they do with Toronto and Baltimore, and another to win against legitimate playoff teams.

With the owners determined to further reduce payroll it signals a franchise in decline.

Teams win championships and the Bronx Buttheads are a collection of overpaid douche bags. I don't see a World Series title in their immediate future.

The Yankees have winning franchise in history and it could be within 4 to 5 more seasons they could play in a World Series .

But I like the parity in its nearly two different teams playing in the World Series games in the last 15 - 20 season in the MLB instead of the same few teams winning too many time nicely .

    Hopefully never.

I'd rather see any other team win.

No one knows when they will win the World Series again, and yes they could possibly win it next year.
