what does that mean "Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu charged with corruption"?

Is he going to be judged or just a title.

I think he does not deserve this after what he did to Israel the last couple of decades.

    Hello Anon,

It means that Israel has a legal system.

However, prosecuting a prime minister who has proven to be an excellent leader should not be undertaken lightly. While corruption (unproven in this case so far) must be subject to prosecution, not all prosecutions are in the public interest, and this case may be one of those.

    Example provision in Canada:

    - - - - Start of extract: - - - -

"Even if there is sufficient evidence to proceed with a prosecution, Crown counsel should proceed only if, considering all of the circumstances, a prosecution would best serve the public interest."

    1) The nature of the alleged offence

    e. The delay between the commission of the alleged offence and the time of the charging decision: considerations relevant to the impact of any delay include the responsibility of the accused for the delay, the discoverability of the alleged offence by the police or investigative agency, and the complexity and length of the investigation; [...]"

    Extract source:

    Public Prosecution Service of Canada

    2.3 Decision to Prosecute

Public Prosecution Service of Canada Deskbook

    - - - - End of extract - - - -

    I hope this helps.

There's a difference between corruption and incompetence. If incompetence were illegal. Trump would have been in prison long ago.

Years of public service does not give anyone immunity against indictments.

Either they will drop the indictment or it will be brought to trial.

Then, it will have to be proven in a court of law.

Personally, my view of Netanyahu is that he is the PM Israel needs but not the one it deserves. :)
