Regarding the Wheel Of Fortune controversy where a contestant lost everything by adding a word not on puzzle - What are Rules For.....?

....As Yahoo Entertainment reports, Shaw was attempting to solve the puzzle, which requires a contestant to list the words that appear. In Shaw’s case, the words were “right,” “football,” “left” and “Sally.”..

She gave her answer: “ “Right, football, left and Sally.” She added "and" and that is clearly NOT in the puzzle! Fans are now calling for a change in the rules because they are too "literal"! This is ridiculous! Your thoughts?

It happened before the first time the crosswords were on the show, no one got upset.  Think they are all upset cause she could potentially have won alot of money.  It's in the rules, he states it before hand, don't really understand why everyone is getting upset.

Rules are clear, what the contestant needs to say is precisely the answer, adding nothing.

It is foolish and there are much more important things for people to be up in arms about these days.

I felt sorry for her, because she lost all she gained that round, because she added the "and" to the solution. But the rules are rules. I think the rules should be changed.
