If you're a Christian and you don't support universal health care, does that make you a hypocrite?

Yes it does. Jesus Himself told the parable of the Good Samaritan.

    I would think it would.

What if the health care is for gay related HIV treatment? Just curious.

yes  and it makes you  selfish .

the terrorist attack last Friday showed people running to the danger and putting their lives at risk and so human nature is not selfish and had anyone fallen down and suffered a stroke or heart attack or become ill people would go to the persons aid so we are not selfish .

so how can you support a Health care system where those who cannot afford the health care do not get treatment ?

there are as many liberal Christians as conservative Christians

I would guess you are neither - just a liberal who knows nothing

universal health care is a big brother ideal not a Christian one

the Biblical obligation to the poor is not government but personal and church

While the idea that Christians are conservatives is a common myth with liberals including the liberal Christians

liberal is big government - government provides all needs and controls all acts

Conservative is small government only proving what the Constitution allows them to provide all other things are [personal responsibility including helping the needy

Cite for us the Article or Amendment to the Constitution that allows the federal government to interfere in health care.  BETCHA CAN'T!! No, the "general welfare clause" does NOT.  Why should we support an illegal program intended to buy votes so corrupt, pandering, professional politicians can keep their fat, lazy as$e$ parked in the Swamp?  Tell us how this program will be paid for.  Tell us who will do the research and discover the cures if there is no profit for anyone.  Tell us the last successful, Constitutional program of the federal government.  Tell us the last federal program that didn't become a huge, bloated, tax dollar sucking monument to bureaucratic inefficiency.  BETCHA CAN'T!!  Tell us why NO ONE proposing these communist programs has ever said they would apply to members of Congress, the Executive and the Judiciary as well.

No, I'm not a hypocrite for expecting the law to be obeyed.  Maybe a bit naïve, but not a hypocrite.

You're a hypocrite to yourself if you don't follow your own convictions and have your own opinions.

If you ever read the Bible you will find that Jesus never says it is the state's responsibility to serve the poor and needy. Jesus does instruct his disciples to pay taxes (give to Caesar the things that are Caesar's). However he never says our taxes are to support the poor.

Instead the responsibility to care for the poor is each person's. There is no virtue in the state providing universal health care. However there is virtue when you help feed the hungry, care for widows, and other acts of kindness.

If you are a Christian Scientist or some other extremist branch of that faith and don't believe in humans practicing medicine, then you are not a hypocrite for not supporting universal health care. Maybe nervous when getting a tummy ache, but that is all.
