does having food stamps mean you’re poor?

    Yes, food stamps mean you receive govt. assistance due to your financial condition, if you don't qualify for that, and you and your children go to the local food pantry, and if they are out, which they are many times, you go to another charitable organization that many times are religious. If that doesn't work you tell the children there is no food available like the 17 million in the U.S categorized by hunger related health issues.

    You can't qualify for this program unless you're "poor" (by US standards, which are actually higher than those under which much of the rest of the world lives). Poverty is relative to where you live.

    It means you have no income. Millionaires can get food stamps if they stop getting yearly income.
