Losing weight really is that simple. But people expect a "diet" to work magic. And they cheat on their diet. There's also a multi-billion diet industry that makes money out of making it complicated.

It depends on what size you are. Like if you're obese then you can go for some extreme diets, just cut the calories to 500 a day, you're not gonna starve. But if you're already an average weight i would say about 1000 calories a day and exercise.

Reduce your calorie intake and do some intense (fairly) exercise for at least 5 hours a week.
