Each mole of NiCl₂ contains 1 mole of Ni²⁺ ions and 2 moles of Cl⁻ ions.
Number of moles of ions present in the solution = (1 + 2)y mol = 3y mol
P(water) = X(water) * P(water)°
351 torr = [600/(600 + 3y)] * (360 torr)
351 (600 + 3y) = 600 * 360
210600 + 1053y = 216000
1053y = 5.13
No. of moles of NiCl₂ added = 5.13 mol
