Primary hypogonadism (low testosterone production) due to a problem with the testes. (Not the pituitary gland)

Examples of conditions affecting the testes, which lead to primary gonadal failure, include:

    - inflammation due to infections such as mumps.  Did you have post puberty mumps?

-chemotherapy or radiotherapy to the testes

-failure of the testes to descend into the scrotum

    -absence of the testes (anorchidism)

-Klinefelter’s syndrome- a genetic condition in which men are born with an extra X chromosome; characterised by tall stature, reduced fertility, and development of breast tissue

    -certain types of tumours

    -certain types of autoimmune disorders.
