How 'bout twice a week? That way you'll be hitting them frequently enough where they won't atrophy yet not too frequently which will lead to overtraining and stunted muscle growth.

Three times a week maybe four depending on how much muscle you're trying to build. Don't let it get to where you're only doing it one a week that's four times a month and you really won't reach your goals that way. But yeah three to four times a week so do it every other day. How often you workout should never be an all or nothing thing. It shouldn't ever be once a week or everyday there's no balance there and if you worked your biceps and arms everyday you wouldn't be giving your muscles time to rest. Rest is just as much a part of the process as doing the exercises is a part of it. But if you're okay with working out three days straight then take two days off afterwards.
