There's no such thing as an AKC American Pitbull as there's NO SUCH RECOGNIZED BREED with ANY legitimate registry.
The ABDA is a registry only backyard breeders use to give the illusion of selling dogs of breeds that no one recognizes.
If you want a bully breed GO ADOPT ONE FROM A SHELTER. Don't make the a$$holes rich that are breeding these dogs. Do hope you've checked with your landlord as most don't allow them since they account for over 70% of deaths by dog attack. If they allow pits they can't get liability insurance for their property.

ADBA, because AKC Pits don't exist.

AKC but they do not register pit bull cause they are just mutts. There are no standards for a pit bull so there is no reason to register a mutt. Look at all you have seen & realize they have no unity. All the different sizes, head shapes & you never know is a pit is a true pit or just a genetic mess.
It is a waste of your time & money. No such thing as a registered pit bull, except in these junk registries.

The AKC DOES NOT recognize the pit bull as a "breed". They do recognize and have breed standards for a number of OTHER bully "TYPES" such as the Bull terrier, Miniature Bull terrier, Bulldog, American Staffordshire Terrier, and the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. The American Bulldog was just added to the AKC's Foundation Stock Service in Nov of 2019 - first step in recognizing the breed.) Each of these breeds are unique as to breed standard, relating to size & characteristics. Several of these breeds are considered similar to, but not EXACTLY the same as a "pit bull". And you can GOOGLE the differences.
