Can I use an external hard drive to keep my laptop data and use it as a PS4 game drive at the same time? ?

Never used a external drive on PS4 not sure how it works, buying a 5tb Seagate expansion drive.

    yes.

it needs to be formatted as FAT32, which is not easy, but possible, in modern Windows.

Expand your game library with an external hard drive, and back up your save files with PlayStation Plus cloud saves. The PlayStation 4 supports external storage devices via USB 3.0, giving you more storage capacity for your digital game

I, too,  don't know how a PS4 would work with that, but personally I'd be using completely separate drives for your purposes.

Could be done if you partion it right, not sure how the ps4 would react to it though.
