how come seniors are more likely to support socialist programs and government aid compared to middle aged adults?

Check your facts. Middle aged people already support socialist programs. When they have a fire, they call the fire department. are victim of crime, they call the police, use highways and bridges, expect the military to protect our country, check books from the public library,, mail a letter, visit museums, go to public schools, pay for their members of Congress government funded health care system, enjoy the freedoms protected by the FBI, CIA and many more ways. These are all socialist programs.

Seniors, like you pay for SS and medicare all their working life. It IS their money!
It is the only thing they had compared to todays many investments and pension oppertunities.

Those who support it are the poor who expect free things,, there are no free things in life, some one pays for them, they expect the young to work and pay,,

Because it is harder to survive when you are old without help, mainly financial.

Where do you get your assumed information from? There is no evidence to prove your poor comment and question.

Because we have lived longer and understand various needs more than younger people understand them. We are also wise enough to know that you cannot support everything financially so we study the needs carefully before deciding where financial help should go as we wish it to be used wisely and not wasted.

Probably because their retirement income can't keep up with rising health care costs let alone with everything else. They realize they need all the help they can get to make it from one month to the next.
Before I retired, I was certainly unaware of the impact my health care costs would have on the quality of my life. I had no idea I'd be spending so much just on dental care (all those fillings and caps don't last forever) let alone over-the-counter drugs and prescription copays.

Maybe because we are struggling with the great social security income we are trying to live on.

maybe because so many of them didn't do private pensions or buy homes so they have to live off gov't or they swallowed former gov't policy that said married women could do reduced rate ni contributions on the basis two together would need less to live on but they wouldn't let those women pay back contributions to get full pension when separated .

Sr.s are typically retired and often infirm. So they no longer pay in large income taxes and unemployment taxes; but they reap the benefits of social security income and medicare. In other words Sr.s are getting the benefits of our socialist programs and no longer paying into them (at least not as much).
