I'm filling a paper out and my year of birth must be 4 numeric characters. How do I do that?

Examples of what I've put in:

7/15/96

July 15 1996

07/15/1996

I'm not sure how they want it in only four numeric characters

    YEARS  currently come in 4 digits...........1988,   1876,   1055,  2019,  2020 .........

what is your YEAR of birth?  No one asked what day or month .

they want the 4 numbers of your birth YEAR.

They're asking for your birth YEAR not birth date, so 1996.

Up to this point, and at least for several thousand more years, years ARE 4 digits, like "1994", "1967", "2004", etc.
