It’s the lifestyle. They hang out in seedy places. When you bring an entourage, you’re just asking to be mugged, shot, or killed because you’re telling everyone that you have money.
Getting drunk isn’t going to help especially if everyone is carrying guns and all are trigger happy.

First of all you have to understand that today we have 10 times more rappers than we had back in the day which is a major cause to why so many are dying. Another point is that with time, many rappers have moved from the regular substance drugs for rappers or ''urban'' people like booz and weed to pills, opiods, coke and such, once addicted its kind of hard to quit.. so they overdose.

It’s a mixture of things. First off, let’s go back to the 90s when the two biggest rappers in the hip hop world were Tupac and Biggie. Their West Coast v. East Coast rap thing was a huge deal. So much so that it cost both of them their lives. It’s still something that triggers a lot of people to this day. Second, a lot of people who hit the spotlight will get into alcohol or drugs to keep them happy, and sadly, too much ends up killing them. In all honesty though, the deaths of Tupac and Biggie led to the butter gum-pop-dominated music scene in the late 90s, and I hope we see that happen, but for a pop rock music revival
