It's true he was the 44th President; some significant details of his life, despite his two autobiographies, remain deliberately obscure.

Some issues are simply clerical errors, e.g. Danbury CT ZIP code is 06814; that's where Mr. Obama's SS# was issued, in 1977 at his request.  At the time, he lived in Honolulu, ZIP 96814.

Other details are more noteworthy:  Mr. Obama was admitted to both Occidental and Columbia as a foreign exchange student, having been raised in Indonesia.  He received foreign aid and scholarships for undergrad and Harvard Law, under the rubric of being a low-income foreign student.

In 2008 Fox News called a random group of 400 of Columbia classmates of Mr. Obama's, and none of them had ever met Mr. Obama.  In the smaller group of Political Science majors, the most prominent professor, Henry Graff, has never recalled meeting him.  However, while this indicates Mr. Obama kept a low profile, he is remembered by other professors.  He was not required to write a senior thesis, and was not eligible for honors simply due to residence requirements needing to be > than 2 years.

He has preferred to keep his academic records private, an option many politicians have exercised.

Obama was born in Hawaii from an American mother and a Kenyan father.

Some people want to think he was not a legitimate president because of his skin color.  American laws state that a president must be born in America,  thus those people claim the law as a reason not to think of Obama as a legitimate president.

Children born abroad from Americans are considered citizens automatically;  the babies may not be considered citizens of the country they were born.  As an example,  think of employees of embassies,  who typically do not bother to return to America to give birth and use local facilities.   That baby is obviously an American citizen.

Obama stated that he was born in Hawaii and has presented his birth certificate.  I have no reason to doubt his word.

No, he was born in Hawaii. After three plus years of being out of office, it's really time to move on.

Besides - any publication that may affect the integrity of a school like Harvard will be reviewed by multiple people. Been there, done that. It was printed as a known lie.
