What annoys you most about how young people nowadays speak or write? Answering questions with "so", Saying "like" many times in a sentence?
Using textspeak when not texting?

I think it is the "Like" That upsets me the most.

I first became aware of the overuse of 'like' about 40 years ago. I still find it irritating, and often wonder how its users don't understand how witless it makes them sound.

I know whatcha mean, it annoys me too.
So when they want to say :-)
like they should type "smiley face"
Actually, I'm not annoyed that easily ;)

That doesn't annoy me at all because young people have been doing that for decades

People said the word like a lot when i was a kid. What i don't get is the slang they have now don't get as in don't understand it and don't like it. It sounds really stupid to me but i also grew up in the mid to late nineties and early two thousands so i don't come from the same generation. It's gonna sound weird to me.

Nothing, TBH. They're also in no way inferior to other words, for they do serve a meaningful purpose in conversation. In Linguistics, we call them discourse markers.
