What species of bird has the largest sustained lift to weight ratio?

By sustained, I mean carry an object for a significant amount of distance.  Kilometers upon kilometers

A bird can carry about its own body weight. The biggest bird is about 20 kilogram. And that is about the max a bird can carry.

If you discount flight, then the Ostrich which can carry a full grown adult several miles. If you sustained flight and not extincted, then probably the Albatross. If you include extinct species, it would be prehistoric birds from the species Pelagornis chilensis which had wingspans of over 17 feet.

I mean non extinct, flying birds.  But I do appreciate the effort.

Probably an eagle.  They can lift a newborn lamb.
