Do Christians realize they are ultimately putting their trust in the Biblical authors who claimed to speak on behalf of God?
You have absolutely no good reason whatsoever to take the claims these men made at face value. If there was a God who created the universe than dont you think he should've written a fking book himself that wasn't open to interpretation or better yet made his existence self evident to every man, woman, and child on the planet so we could make an informed decision as to whether we should follow him or not?

It's true that the Bible was written by men. But there says: “Men spoke from God as they were moved by holy spirit.” (2 Peter 1:21) In other words, God used his invisible energizing force, holy spirit, to transmit his message to the writers of the Bible books. This can be likened to a businessman dictating a letter to his secretary. The letter’s author is, not the one doing the writing, but the one doing the dictating.
Today we trust some scientific and news articles despite of the fact that they were written by men - we see that there are some points we can be convinced in.
The same is true about the Bible: it contains evidence that build confidence in the Bible’s divine origin. For example:
1. It's scientifically accurate;
2. Accurately predicts the future, and
3. Answers on life's biggest questions.Source(s): shorturl.at/inowA

Yes, I do have good reason to accept the writings of these men as God's Word. Jesus Christ clearly demonstrated that He was God, by constantly doing things only God could do. He, God, founded one Church, said it was to remain one, and promised that one Church "The Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth", and "Whatsoever you bind upon Earth is bound in Heaven", and "He who hears you hears Me". That one Church compiled the Bible from its own writings (and early Jewish writings), and declares as binding truth that these 73 texts are the inspired Word of God. Therefore God Himself has declared it to be so.

The Bible is the Inspired word of God. Yes, men wrote the books but the inspiration came from God. The words are His.

Fib much? Of course you do. Don't bother denying it. And take a class in elementary logic, too. Every year millions experience God for themselves. You should, too. It's the logical thing to do. Don't bother moving the goalposts. It's more evidence than you have to shore up your fantasy that there is no God.
Yes, we do have good reasons to find out for ourselves that the Bible is still basically true, but it is not the sum total of what God wants to teach us.

SEEK and you will find. You do absolutely no seeking and expect God to jump out and show you the fact that He is indeed real. Well, you get back more than you put in, I can testify to that. God isn't an entertainer that He should jump out and astonish some fat slob laying on a comfy couch sipping beer and demanding that proof be brought to him on a silver platter. Seek with a whole and sincere heart, if you think it might just be worth not having to live for zillions x zillions plus years here......

I realize that poses a problem.However you are not part of the answer.Your question is rather foolish.

Heck, we don't even have good reason to believe that the books in the bible were written by the people they are attributed to (most bibles even include disclaimers to this effect).

Christ built a Church; he did not write a Bible. My trust is placed on the Church that Christ built. It is not open to personal interpretation.

The way God did it was the right way.
A book written by imperfect humans inspired by God has the human touch that can reach our heart. We can relate to other humans more than to an invisible spirit.
