No difference in meaning between say and tell, in this instance anyway.
The one with "say" doesn't specify "to me", whereas the one with "tell" does explicitly state "me" as the (indirect) object. If it's clear from context, you don't need "to me" with "say", but "tell" sounds awkward without "me" (or some object).Source(s): native English speaker; studied linguistics & English grammar
