A moving object has a kinetic energy of 128 J

and momentum of 23.5 kg·m/s.

a) Find the speed of the object in m/s

b) Find the mass of the object in kg

Update:

A 0.028 kg bullet is fired vertically at 312 m/sinto a 0.18 kg baseball that is initially at rest.How high does the combination rise afterthe collision, assuming the bullet embeds itselfin the ball? The acceleration due to gravity is9.8 m/s2.Answer in units of m.

    {m*V^2 = 256

    {m*V = 23.5

    their ratio leads to :

    V = 256/23.5 = 10.89 m/sec

    ...therefore :

    m = 23.5/10.89 = 2.157 kg

    check :

    2.157*10.89 = 23.5 kg*m/sec

    2.157*10.89^2/2 = 256 joule
