Why are my waffles with store buyed waffle mix so dense?
Ready buyed waffles are fluffier. What can I add to the waffle mix to make the waffle fluffier and not so dougy?

Do you let the batter sit and rise (most dry mixes tell you to let it sit for at least 10 minutes after mixing)? Introducing the air will make the waffles fluffier and lighter.
Also, make sure you're fully cooking the waffles so they aren't doughy in the centre.

don't stir your batter so much.
Most folks stir the hell out of waffle batter when the instructions clearly say to stir just till mixed and that there may be lumps yet.
Try it and you will see that the waffles won't be as dense.

Putting in some extra baking powder would make them lighter, but that may not be the problem. If your waffle iron is running too hot it would crust the waffle properly, but undercook the interior. Try the mix in a friend's waffle iron.

Forget the mix. Make your waffle batter from scratch. If you can measure and stir, it is SO easy.
