What would cause a 72 year old male to have a lot of aches and pains?

    if I don't do  much walking my joints can get stiff etc

    Cellular degeneration.  It happens to all of us as we age.

    Bodies don't make new cells as fast as they once did and many of those we already have are damaged by things like the sun and diet.   

     

    Source(s): If you have a few aches and pains at 72, you're doing pretty good. The only good news is that pain sensors also deteriorate. If a twenty year old had your body, he'd be in the emergency room with excruciating pain ;)

    Being 72 years old. What kind do you have? A limp stick? You need to start chewing tobacco and rubbing it where you hurt. I'll bet you think I was kidding you, don't  you?

    Well, for starters... being 72.

    Arthritis, worn and tired body parts.

    At that age, cells do not divide and replace themselves as efficiently as a younger persons body does.
